"As a child of immigrant parents, a drive for constant improvement was instilled in me at an early age. Both stressed the importance of education to me and my older brothers, having only been able to attend up to primary school themselves. I chose to attend community college, transferred, and graduated from UC Santa Barbara. On my journey I quickly realized that even with familial support, the path for young men of color in post-secondary education can be turbulent. We will oftentimes face challenges and obstacles in academia with little to no experienced support. As such I hope to be part of a solution in helping guide young men to the apex of their potential."
