Month in Review: Intentions into Action
January at Hanshaw Middle School was all about setting the tone for the rest of the year. We took the time to reflect on where we have been so we could get crystal clear on where we are going. By making our goals visible, our Brothers are stepping into 2026 with focus and accountability.
Life Skills: Reflection Circle - New Year, New Me

IYT opened the year with the Reflection Circle: New Year, New Me, a powerful workshop where Brothers looked back on the lessons of 2025 and set intentions for their growth in 2026.
Highlight Moment: Writing a goal down is the first step, but seeing it every day changes your behavior. Papers from the Brothers' reflections were displayed on the wall in our space. This creates a permanent visual reminder to inspire them throughout the year and allows the Brotherhood to hold each other accountable to their highest potential.
Brother of the Month

Brother Luis
8th Grade
Luis is being recognized as Brother of the Month for his outstanding academic performance! Luis is currently demonstrating what true focus looks like by consistently earning all A’s and B’s in his classes.
But his leadership doesn't stop with his grades. He consistently shows up to after-school programming with his friends, actively participates in workshops, and—most importantly—steps in to support his peers whenever they need help. Luis is the perfect example of a Brother who is turning his new year intentions into daily actions. Keep up the amazing work, Luis!
