December in Review: Growth & Preparation

December at San Juan High School was defined by momentum. As the fall semester came to a close, our focus was twofold: expanding our circle through active recruitment and preparing our seniors for the critical spring semester ahead. From celebrating high-achieving upperclassmen to fostering a "Growth Mindset" in our workshops, we ended the year ensuring our Brothers are ready for the challenges and opportunities of 2026.

Growing the Brotherhood

Brothers participated in a workshop about accountable leadership
Mentor JJ leading Jenga and Connect Four during lunch, building strong relationships and fostering community with SJHS students.

This month, IYT at San Juan has been actively recruiting and growing its Brotherhood! We are incredibly grateful to the staff and students at San Juan who continue to advocate for and support our program. As we move into the Spring semester, we’re excited to welcome new faces and watch the IYT Program continue to expand its impact on campus.

Senior Success

A huge shoutout to our Seniors for maintaining a 3.0 GPA or higher during their Fall Semester! Their hard work, discipline, and commitment to academic excellence deserve to be celebrated:

  • Brent Bautista: 3.6 GPA

  • Camron Hetrick: 3.4 GPA

  • Magnus Neufville: 3.5 GPA

As we move into the Spring Semester, our seniors are shifting into the next phase of their journey—completing FAFSA applications, applying to junior colleges, and finalizing their post-grad plans. We’re proud of the determination they continue to show as they prepare for what’s next!

Developing a Growth Mindset

Staying motivated at the end of a semester can be a challenge. To keep our Brothers inspired, this month's workshops focused on what it means to carry a Growth Mindset. Through reflection and discussion, Brothers were encouraged to look within, tap into their potential, and connect their current mindset to long-term academic success and personal development.
