About CAMSC

  • The Challenge

A mental health crisis among young men and boys prompted Governor Gavin Newsom to respond with a recent executive order and subsequent statewide initiative, the California Men’s Service Challenge (CAMSC).

  • The Goal

Engage 10,000 young men to mentor, coach, and serve their communities through volunteer and mentorship opportunities over the next 12 months. IYT has been selected as a featured partner for this exciting statewide initiative.

  • The Impact

Through service to their communities, they’ll gain valuable experience, create incredible bonds, and develop a deeper sense of purpose. Throughout 2026 IYT is doubling down on our efforts and launching new opportunities for engagement.

“Young men across California are struggling with disconnection, loneliness and a lack of direction. Through service, we can give them a sense of purpose and the opportunity to build careers while making a difference in their communities.”

“Mentorship is how young men transform isolation into connection and purpose…”

“At Improve Your Tomorrow we’ve seen that service and brotherhood are powerful antidotes to the loneliness so many boys face today.”

—Michael Lynch, CEO & Co-Founder of IYT

“That’s why we strongly support the California Men’s Service Challenge.”

“When young men are given the chance to be seen, be supported and serve their communities, they not only change their own lives — they help shape the future of our society.”
