IYT Recap: C.A.R.E. Path Launch at IYT Headquarters
Recently, leadership teams from both Improve Your Tomorrow (IYT) and Sutter Health gathered at the our National Office (and future site of the College Success Center) to celebrate the kickoff of our new initiative, the C.A.R.E. Path (Career Access, Readiness, and Exposure).
Sacramento Mayor Kevin McCarty and California Chief Service Officer Josh Fryday were also in attendance, as well as a select group of IYT Brothers and their parents, and a large group of volunteers from Sutter Health.
The event kicked off with a tour of the first floor (the future site of the College Success Center), freshly gutted and prepped for construction to begin. IYT CEO Michael Lynch led the group through the site, showcasing our plans for development of what will be an incredible asset to Brothers.
After the tour, everyone gathered outside for a press conference featuring speakers sharing their excitement about the partnership, and its far-reaching impact. The crowd then made their way to the back exterior of the building, where lunch was served while everyone helped put together health kits which would later be distributed to school sites.
Next, IYT Brothers (and others) enjoyed a selection of interactive workshops and discussion panels, where leaders from Sutter Health shared valuable insights into how to choose the right career path and find success working in the field of health care as a young man of color.
