Impact Update: Hong-Kingston School
November in Review: Voices of Leadership
This month at Hong-Kingston was defined by visibility. Our IYT Brothers were not just participants in their education; they were recognized leaders on stage. From being highlighted at a school-wide assembly to planning future service projects, our students demonstrated that their voices matter. Academically, we are seeing the direct results of this confidence, with Brothers earning spots on the Principal’s Honor Roll and setting a standard of excellence for their peers.
Community Milestone: Taking the Stage
In November, the Hong-Kingston IYT program shared a proud moment when we were highlighted during a school assembly with parents in attendance. The school officially recognized the work IYT does in supporting young men through mentorship and character development.
Adding to the moment, student Jayden Concepcion took the stage to share his personal testimony. He spoke powerfully about how the program has strengthened his confidence, shaped his goals, and positively influenced his life. Moments like these remind us how powerful student voices can be when given the space to shine.
Academic Victory: Rising to the Principal's Honor Roll Scholar
Adonis Taylor, 7th grade, proudly shows off his awards from the first trimester.
Adonis has earned a spot on the Principal’s Honor Roll as the Most Improved in ELA—a powerful reflection of his hard work. He has been intentional about raising his grades and credits IYT for helping him build the confidence to believe in himself. We are incredibly proud of the leader Adonis is becoming.
Service Learning: Brainstorming Impact Projects
Brothers Jesus, Donovan, and Joseph collaborate on ways to give back to their community.
IYT Brothers recently stepped into action during a Brotherhood Leadership Service workshop focused on turning leadership into real-world impact. Together, they brainstormed meaningful ways to give back to their community, from mentoring younger students to organizing service projects for Earth Day in the spring.
Joshua Lagorio, IYT Brother
Throughout the workshop, Brothers connected leadership to service, recognizing that they have the power to be change-makers in their community right now.
