Nevada Brothers Visit University of Nevada, Las Vegas

In late April, 37 IYT Brothers from Eldorado High School and Western High School traveled to the University of Nevada, Las Vegas to explore the campus.

For many, this moment represented two exciting milestones: the first time stepping foot on a college campus, and the first time the Brothers from separate high schools had met in person.

From the moment they arrived, the day was centered around exploration and connection. Members participated in a guided campus tour, checking out the academic buildings and student spaces, and chatting with UNLV students about college life.

During the campus tour, Brothers learned more about various pathways to becoming a UNLV student, heard insights about the admissions process, potential fields of study, and the resources available to help ensure success. These conversations were vital, and gave students a clear picture of what it takes to get into UNLV, and the opportunities that they’d have access to once accepted.

To close out the day with fellowship, students visited the Gold Coast Bowling Center, where they continued building relationships with one another after an exciting day of learning & exploration.

More than just a field trip, the experience served as an introduction to possibility, helping our Brothers see higher education as an attainable future for each and every one of them.
