Wisconsin Governor Tony Evers Meets with IYT Wisconsin Leadership to Discuss Youth Empowerment

IYT Wisconsin’s Executive Director Meets with Governor Tony Evers

IYT Wisconsin Executive Director Korbey White with Governor Evers

Korbey White, Executive Director of IYT Wisconsin, recently met with Governor Tony Evers to share the remarkable progress the organization has achieved in less than a year across both the Madison Metropolitan, and Verona Area school districts.

In just twelve short months, the young scholars enrolled in IYT have demonstrated what’s possible when they’re given access to targeted mentorship and dedicated support. We’ve seen the program drive a significant increase in graduation rates, college enrollment, academic performance, and daily school attendance, as well as a meaningful drop in out-of-school suspensions.

The meeting also provided an opportunity to discuss an ambitious expansion roadmap for Dane County and across the state, with deep gratitude extended to Governor Evers for witnessing the programmatic activities firsthand and offering his unwavering support.

As the new school year approaches, the organization’s work hasn't slowed down. IYT Wisconsin has remained deeply engaged with our members throughout the summer months. In response to the recent tragedy in Madison, the team is expanding its safe/brave spaces over the coming weeks to give young men a structured and supportive environment to process, heal, and find community.

Community tragedies carry the devastating weight to tear down a young person's sense of self-empowerment, inherent value, and self-worth. Now more than ever, IYT Wisconsin stands firm in its dedication to dismantling systemic barriers and closing opportunity gaps so every young man, regardless of his identity, can thrive and realize his full potential.
