On May 12, the Madison Metropolitan School District (MMSD) hosted its second annual Partnership Breakfast. This was an opportunity for every organization that partners with MMSD to network, ask questions, and be showcased. There was also a panel discussion led by a few of Madison’s long standing organizations.
Before the panel discussion began, Korbey White, Executive Director of IYT Wisconsin kicked off the event by reading the district’s Equity Statement to a crowd of over 200 community members. Once the panel was underway, the audience was encouraged to submit questions.
Aaron Broadwater, IYT Wisconsin’s Associate Program Director, seized this opportunity by asking thought provoking questions pertaining to partnership sustainability, and public buy-in.
We value MMSD as a continued partner and honor and recognize them as being the first district IYT was launched in.
IYT Wisconsin Speaks at the MMSD Board Meeting
As part of their continued effort to highlight the important role of IYT in the district, the Madison Metropolitan School District invited IYT Wisconsin to attend their upcoming board meeting.
Their invitation marks the latest in their continued efforts to highlight the partnership with our organization. Through this opportunity we were able to present vital information about IYT, what we do, our impact, and the ways in which we’d like to grow our relationship with the district’s Board of Education in the future.
Aaron Broadwater, Associate Program Director with IYT Wisconsin, and Korbey White, Executive Director with IYT Wisconsin shared insights into our decision to bring IYT programming to Wisconsin, our plans for the future, and (most importantly), the incredible growth we’ve seen in our members, even in a short time.
The Board posed several insightful questions to our team, and we left feeling grateful for their interest in, and endorsement of, our program. We look forward to continuing to expand our support in the region, and concurrently deepening our relationship with MMSD.
