In late May, IYT Wisconsin celebrated its second ever college tour! In total, 45 Brothers from Capital High School, Lafollette High School, and Verona High School had the opportunity to visit Edgewood College in downtown Madison, WI.

Edgewood University is a private Dominican university in Madison, Wisconsin. The beautiful campus stretches over 55 acres, overlooking Lake Wingra and offering over 40 undergraduate majors with an enrollment over over 2,400 students.

Representatives from Edgewood met with our students, providing them with valuable insights and guidance about how to get the most out of their college experience. After a thorough tour around the stunning campus, IYT members were escorted to the Henry Vilas Zoo in Madison for some fun and Brotherhood camaraderie.

A journalist from Madison 365 was also in attendance to capture the day, and subsequently published a fantastic recap.

IYT Wisconsin’s Associate Program Director, Aaron Broadwater, was in attendance for the region’s previous college tour to Madison University. After visiting the campus, two high school seniors from the program decided to apply there, and one was already accepted. Broadwater shared his thoughts with the Madison 365 journalist, stating:

For me, that was the epitome of why we do this. That student, who has all the potential in the world, finally took that leap of faith, but it took him going on this college tour to put together all the things we’ve discussed with them.

Our college tours are an integral part of IYT programming, a vital exercise that’s been proven time and again to be a huge driver in helping members see college as a tangible, accessible reality.
