IYT Wisconsin Celebrates Their First College Trip

The Improve Your Tomorrow (IYT) Wisconsin team proudly launched its first-ever college tour with an incredible visit to Madison Area Technical College (MATC)—and it exceeded every expectation.

Bringing together 45 students from across three high schools, this immersive experience introduced our young men to real college environments, career pathways, and meaningful mentorship opportunities. From engaging presentations by campus leadership to interactive sessions and a guided campus tour, students were fully immersed in what college life can look like and left with a stronger sense of possibility for their futures.

What made this experience truly powerful was the level of student engagement and ownership. Using structured reflection tools, students actively participated throughout the day—asking thoughtful questions, taking notes, and identifying programs that aligned with their goals. Many shared during post-tour debriefs that college now feels attainable and within reach. A standout moment came when two graduating seniors, who previously did not see college as an option, expressed a newfound desire to attend MATC this fall—highlighting the transformational impact of this experience.

This successful tour also reinforced the strength of our growing partnership with MATC. Their staff and leadership praised the engagement, professionalism, and curiosity of our students, while our chaperones noted visible increases in confidence and motivation.

This was more than just a visit—it was a pivotal step in helping students see themselves in higher education. We are excited to continue building this partnership and look forward to returning in the future to provide even more opportunities for our IYT brothers to explore, connect, and thrive.
