IYT Mentor Fellows also become part of the AmeriCoprs Volunteer Network, meaning  upon program completion, you gain access to the Employers of National Service. This is a network of over 600 diverse employers across every sector that highly value and recruit AmerCorps service members after their year of service.

The IYT Mentor Fellowship is a year-long fellowship for college students, young professionals, and emerging leaders to contribute to the formation of young scholars of color on their journey to and through college. Through their year of service, fellows develop highly desirable and transferable skills and experiences that make them strong, innovative, and empathetic leaders

Join The Fellowship!

The IYT Mentor Fellowship provides an opportunity for aspiring educators and social justice advocates to gain hands-on experience and contribute to the formation of young scholars on their journey to and through college. 

IYT will provide emerging leaders the opportunity to expand their expertise and further their ability to serve communities deeply affected by social injustice.

Open Opportunities

Candidates of all genders are encouraged to apply! We provide two fellowship categories: Mentor (Part-Time) and Lead Mentor (Full-Time)


Fellows will serve on a campus within one of IYT's signature program areas. Sites are based within Sacramento and San Joaquin Counties. 

College Academy

College Academy serves young men of color at traditional middle and high schools. The program currently serves students in middle and high schools in Sacramento and San Joaquin Counties.

IYT CC serves young men of color at community colleges. The program is designed to provide specialized support to help students graduate from community college, enter the workforce, or transfer to a 4-year university.


IYT U serves young men of color at colleges and universities. The program has presence at UC Davis and Sacramento State, but provides services to members at campuses throughout California
