Year-long paid fellowships for college students and early career professionals of all genders.

Become a fellow, change lives.

IYT's Mentor Fellowship Program is a year-long opportunity for diverse college students to develop strong, innovative, and empathetic leadership skills while supporting young men of color on their journey to and through college. Fellows will be placed within one of IYT's signature programs: College Academy, IYT CC, or IYT U.

IYT Mentors provide the following services across programs:

  • Lead student development workshops, including but not limited to college advising, civic engagement, character education, and life skills.

  • Work with IYT’s programs team to assess and develop strategies to support students' academic and emotional needs.

  • Collaborate with educators, school staff, and community partners to cultivate a vibrant student driven culture that values resilience, authenticity, and passion.

  • Participate in leadership development sessions to hone leadership skills.

Benefits of Service

Fellows will become part of the greater AmeriCorps Volunteer Network and will receive a biweekly living allowance and an education award. At the conclusion of your service-year as an Americorp member, you gain access to the Employers of National Service. This is a network of over 600 diverse employers across every sector that highly value and recruit AmeriCorps service members after their year of service.
