"As a first-generation college student, I wish that there was a program like IYT when I was growing up. A child of a single immigrant mother, I had no support systems to help me get to and navigate through higher education. Fortunately, in college, I was part of IYT and other programs that help underrepresented students. As a result of these experiences of being a part of a positive and caring community, I discovered my aspiration to perform equity work and want to give back to the programs that facilitated my success. Through my work, I hope to contribute to IYT’s mission of creating a college to community pipeline."
