Despite that, I've thoroughly enjoyed my experience in higher education because it has allowed me wonderful and exciting opportunities, such as meeting interesting and inspiring people as well as studying abroad. This work is important to me because I want to help create opportunities for other people of color. It's important to me to pay it forward and contribute to the communities that I came from."
