Korbey White Brings Proven Record in Systems Change, Public Health, and Youth Advocacy to Lead IYT Wisconsin.

“In the two years I’ve worked with Korbey, I’ve been consistently impressed by his professionalism and his remarkable ability to unite people around a shared purpose.” – Frances Huntley-Cooper, former mayor of Fitchburg, Wisconsin
Madison, WI — Improve Your Tomorrow (IYT) is proud to announce Korbey White as the new Executive Director of IYT Wisconsin. With a background in education, public health, and youth advocacy, Korbey will lead efforts to ensure that boys and young men of color in Wisconsin have the mentorship, resources, and opportunities they need to thrive.
Starting in the 2025–2026 school year, IYT Wisconsin will partner with Capital High School, La Follette High School, and Verona High School to deliver in-school, afterschool, and weekend programming
Wisconsin faces some of the most pressing educational disparities in the nation. Dane County, for example, ranks at the bottom in math and reading outcomes for Black students, has the lowest graduation rates for Black and Brown students in the state, and leads the nation in incarceration rates.
“These challenges don’t reflect a lack of potential—they reflect a lack of investment,” Korbey said. “And that’s exactly what IYT is here to change.”

For more than a decade, IYT has delivered measurable results in closing opportunity gaps:
99% of participants graduate high school
Nearly 80% enroll in college
94% show improved classroom behavior
97% say IYT made college feel possible
IYT’s College Academy model provides up to 12 years of wraparound support, beginning in 6th grade and continuing through college graduation. Services include weekly mentorship from near-peer mentors, academic and emotional support, family engagement, college advising, and campus visits.
With more than 15 years of experience in public health, education, and advocacy, Korbey has launched Saturday Schools serving 200 students every weekend, provided school supplies and back-to-school vaccines to thousands of families, and built strong partnerships across Madison and Milwaukee. For him, the work is personal:
“I was raised by a single, strong Black Queen who did double duty as mother and father. My first friend was murdered when I was 10. Staying alive became an anomaly. If I can help young brothers avoid the trials that young Korbey went through—and break down the barriers in front of them—I’m all in.”
“Korbey is a systems-thinker and a community-builder,” said Michael Lynch, Co-Founder and CEO of IYT. “His deep commitment to youth, equity, and transformation makes him the perfect leader to grow our impact in Wisconsin.”
