 Our Impact

We're closing the college opportunity gap for young men of color.

The Importance of IYT

Young men of color face systemic barriers, making them less likely than their white peers to graduate from high school, meet college admission requirements, and pursue higher education.

IYT programming provides resources and support designed to help our members excel in school, develop confidence, and become leaders in their communities.

When we reach the milestone of 10,000 high school graduates served, not only will our programming create leaders and strengthen local communities, we will generate a projected $1 billion in lifetime economic value. â€‹

How We Do It

Our approach is holistic and intentional, designed to meet the unique needs of the young men of color we serve. We don't just guide them to success, we partner with them to define it. IYT Brothers are achieving excellence in school, enrolling in competitive colleges, and stepping into leadership roles that are changing the trajectory of their lives and their neighborhoods.

The IYT Model: Four Pillars of Success

The IYT model is built on four interdependent pillars, creating a robust support system that guides young men from high school through college graduation and into their careers.

Leadership Development

We believe every IYT Brother has the potential to lead. Our programming focuses on cultivating essential soft skills, including self-advocacy, emotional intelligence, and effective communication.

IYT Brothers develop a strong sense of purpose, and the confidence to take charge of their education and future.

"I'm working towards going to an HBCU and becoming a commercial airline pilot. IYT has helped me with this by not only taking me on an HBCU tour, but showing me where the Tuskegee Airmen flew out of, inspiring me even more to follow in their footsteps. My career and college choice wouldn’t be what is if it wasn’t for that experience."
