Month In Review

This past month at Baltimore Collegiate has been a powerful journey of preparing for the future while celebrating the leaders of today. Brothers got a real glimpse into higher education during our first-ever college tour to UMBC, where they engaged with university leaders and current students. The spirit of leadership was also honored on campus, as we held a surprise ceremony to present our dedicated Jr. Mentors with their official sweaters. We then celebrated the pivotal transition of our 8th graders, sending them off to high school with an encouraging apple cider toast. Embodying this journey of growth, rising 9th grader Masson was recognized for the dedication and initiative that earned him the title of ‘Future President’ as he prepares for Coppin Academy next fall.

UMBC College Tour

On Tuesday, May 20th, our Brothers from Baltimore Collegiate joined forces with SEED School for our first-ever college tour to the University of Maryland, Baltimore County (UMBC). The visit included a campus tour and the opportunity to meet distinguished university leaders such as UMBC’s President and Director of Athletics. Brothers also engaged in candid conversations with current UMBC students, gaining valuable insight into college life. After the tour, our group dined in the university’s dining hall, enjoying a meal among students, faculty, and alumni. The day wrapped up with some friendly competition at AMF Bowling Alley, deepening the bonds of brotherhood across campuses

Jr. Mentor Sweater Ceremony & Site Visit

On Wednesday, May 28th, Baltimore Collegiate hosted a special site visit, welcoming Principal Mr. Bridgers, CEO Mr. Advent, and College & Career Counselor Mr. Dofat. In a surprise moment during the panel discussion, participating Brothers were officially honored with their Jr. Mentor sweaters, a powerful recognition of their leadership and commitment since the start of IYT at Baltimore Collegiate. Panelists reflected on their IYT experience, frequently naming their mentors as key sources of inspiration. The day concluded with a spirit of fellowship, as Brothers shared future plans and built connections with visiting staff and peers.

We ended the month on a high note with our 8th Grade Celebration on Tuesday, June 2nd. Our graduating Brothers were sent off in style, complete with an apple cider toast and warm words of encouragement as they prepare to enter high school. Congratulations, Brothers! We’re incredibly proud of your achievements and can’t wait to see all that you’ll accomplish in the next chapter.

Masson Savoy

8th Grade

Masson, a rising 9th grader, has been a strong, dedicated member of IYT since the beginning. So much so that he was recognized as ‘Future President’ in his 8th grade celebration. Masson has taken initiative, challenged himself, and risen to the occasion numerous times throughout the year. We are excited to see his growth, and we wish you the best of luck at Coppin Academy next fall!
