Month In Review
This past month at Natomas Middle School, IYT celebrated major achievements by honoring our 8th graders at their promotion ceremony and spotlighting Mr. Taylor’s incredible academic turnaround to a 2.5 GPA. Our programs supported this growth through a "Self-Care Essentials" workshop, while Manuel was recognized as Brother of the Month for his reliable leadership and dedication to our community.
Celebrating Achievements & New Beginnings

The IYT Promotion Ceremony for our 8th graders was a powerful highlight last month, marking a special rite of passage as they transition from middle school leaders to rising high schoolers. The ceremony honored their journey and reinforced a key message for their future: while change is constant, they are well-equipped for success by applying the skills they've developed and leveraging the resources around them.
This is a wonderful group of young leaders who have consistently risen to the occasion. When asked how IYT helped them, their unanimous feedback was that having a positive space to discuss and work towards their goals was crucial. Their success is the ultimate testament to their hard work, and we are incredibly proud to see them embark on the next phase of their lives.
Academic Achievement Spotlight

Success isn't always measured from the starting line; it's about the distance traveled. This month, we proudly spotlight Mr. Taylor for his exceptional academic journey. Demonstrating remarkable resilience and commitment, he transformed a 0.9 first-term GPA into a strong 2.5 GPA to finish the year. This achievement speaks volumes about his character. For Mr. Taylor, the motivation goes beyond the classroom, as he puts it: “IYT shows me how to be a better man and leader in my community.” We are incredibly proud to celebrate his hard work and the inspiring leader he is becoming
Workshop Spotlight

Our recent workshop, “Self-Care Essentials: Nurturing Your Well-Being,” was a great opportunity for our brothers to focus on personal growth. The session highlighted the importance of mental and emotional health. Through engaging activities and discussions, students learned practical tools to help them navigate challenges and build healthy habits. When asked what helps them succeed, brothers often emphasize the need for a positive space to talk about their goals; this workshop provided exactly that, creating a supportive environment where they could learn that self-care is a key part of becoming a successful and well-rounded leader.
