IYT Cordova High School Impact Update: December 2025

December in Review: Connection & Academic Excellence

November and December at Cordova High School were defined by building community and celebrating focus. As the semester wrapped up, we prioritized connecting our Brothers with campus leaders who look like them and reinforcing the mindset needed to finish strong. From an inspiring Men of Color speaker panel to a long list of academic high-achievers, Cordova High School is proving that brotherhood leads to success.

IYT focused heavily on building community this month. Our Brothers attended a speaker panel where they learned from CHS staff about what it means to be a man of color in higher education. This event gave them the chance to engage directly with campus leaders, ask questions, and see firsthand the pathways and support systems available to them right here at Cordova.

3.0+ GPA Club Setting the Standard

A huge shoutout to our Brothers who maintained a 3.0 GPA or higher during the Fall Semester! Their hard work, focus, and dedication to their studies set an incredible example for the entire IYT community.

  • Braiden McKenzie: 3.14

Brothers explored the power of a "Growth Mindset" this month, learning how to stay motivated and push through challenges as finals approached. They were encouraged to look within, tap into their potential, and see how their internal mindset directly connects to their external academic success.
