IYT Elliott Alternative Impact Update: December 2025

December in Review: Celebration & Acceleration

December at Elliott Alternative Education Center was defined by a mix of festive joy and serious academic momentum. We believe that to work hard, you must also have a community that celebrates together. This month, we balanced the creativity of holiday traditions with workshops focused on tangible goal-setting. Whether building gingerbread houses or rebuilding GPAs, our Brothers ended the year proving that a "Growth Mindset" changes everything.

IYT brought holiday cheer to Elliott during Brotherhood Friday, where students celebrated with Holiday Bingo, ornament making, and gingerbread house building. The activities sparked creativity, laughter, and connection as everyone enjoyed the season together. It was a meaningful way to kick off the holidays and build community ahead of the Winter Break.

In December, Elliott Brothers participated in workshops focused on Growth Mindset and creating SMART Goals. The sessions emphasized perseverance and the importance of learning from mistakes, reminding students that failure does not define them. We taught the concept that F.A.I.L. stands for "First Attempt In Learning." These workshops encouraged confidence and resilience as students reviewed their achievements from the first half of the year.

Brother Jordan is finishing the year strong with an inspiring achievement! Recognized as Brother of the Month for December, he has made remarkable progress in Credit Recovery and is now on track to graduate early. Through consistent effort, Jordan raised his grades from Ds and Cs to As and Bs, crediting his mentor, Hosmery, for her constant support. We are incredibly proud of his hard work and determination—keep moving forward, Jordan!
