November in Review: Exposure & Inspiration
This month at Franklin High School was defined by expanding horizons. We believe that you cannot be what you cannot see, which is why we took our Brothers out of the classroom and onto a top-tier university campus. By connecting our current students with IYT alumni who are thriving in college, we are bridging the gap between "dreaming" about the future and "planning" for it. Combined with the steady dedication seen in our study halls, Franklin Brothers are ending the fall season inspired and ready for what’s next.
College Access: The Berkeley Experience
22 Brothers. 1 Unforgettable Adventure.

Twenty-two IYT students from Franklin High School embarked on an unforgettable college adventure to UC Berkeley!
This wasn't just a sightseeing tour; it was an immersive experience. Brothers explored the historic campus and enjoyed a meal in the dining commons to get a taste of student life. Most importantly, they heard powerful stories and advice from IYT alumni currently attending Berkeley. Hearing from someone who comes from their community and is succeeding at a top university is a game-changer—it reminds them that they belong in these spaces.
The day wrapped up with high energy as the group cheered courtside at an exciting basketball game. Experiences like these are critical: they inspire our young scholars to see themselves thriving on a college campus and turn the abstract idea of "college" into a tangible goal.
Brother of the Month

Brother Jeremiah
12th Grade
Brother Jeremiah is a standout leader who has been part of the IYT brotherhood since his sophomore year. He consistently represents the program with dedication, encouraging other students to join and sharing the positive impact IYT has had on his journey—from college tours to our after-school space.
We are incredibly proud of Jeremiah’s hard work and determination, especially as he prepares to achieve a monumental milestone: becoming the first high school graduate in his family. Way to go, Jeremiah! You are paving the way for generations to come.
Leadership Update: Central Valley Board of Advisors
We're thrilled to announce our new Board of Advisors for IYT Central Valley! These dedicated individuals are deeply committed to moving the needle forward for young men of color.
