December in Review: Resilience & Celebration
December at Mesa Verde High School was about balancing joy with grit. As we prepared to close out the year, we made space for celebration—feasting and relaxing together—while also doubling down on the skills needed for long-term success. Through "Fail Forward" workshops and renewed focus in study hall, our Brothers demonstrated that whether they are on the basketball court or in the classroom, they are ready to face the new year with determination.
End of Year Celebration: Feating & Fellowship

We were thrilled to come together as a community to welcome the new year in true IYT fashion! Before heading into winter break, we closed out the semester with a special celebration filled with a hearty feast, a screening of The Nightmare Before Christmas, and time to relax, connect, and reflect. It was the perfect way to celebrate our brotherhood, strengthen relationships, and head into the break feeling grounded, grateful, and recharged.
Study Hall Focus: Starting Strong

With a fresh quarter underway, our Brothers stepped up with determination, making academics a clear priority during study hall. From staying on top of assignments to checking grades and asking for support when needed, they showed a clear commitment to maintaining and improving their academic performance. This strong start reflects the accountability and momentum our Brothers are building as they move through the quarter.
Growth Mindset: Failing Forward with Paper Airplanes

"Failing forward" came to life as our Brothers explored what it truly means to grow through challenges. During the workshop, Brothers learned that failure is a natural part of success. Through a hands-on paper airplane challenge, they tested their designs, reflected on what didn’t work, made thoughtful adjustments, and tried again. The activity sparked engagement and laughter while normalizing mistakes and challenging perfectionism.
The Basketball Brothers

Just before winter break, our Mesa Verde basketball Brothers delivered a big win—and they did it the right way. Their teamwork, discipline, and focus on the court reflected the perseverance and leadership we strive to build every day. We’re proud of how they finished the semester strong and are carrying that momentum into the new year.
