IYT Roosevelt Jr. High Impact Update: November 2025

November in Review: Leading from Within

This month at Roosevelt Jr. High was defined by vision and accountability. Our IYT Brothers weren't just completing assignments; they were actively building the skills necessary to lead their own academic journeys. From walking the campus of a university to transforming study hall into a hub of collaboration, our students demonstrated that leadership starts with personal responsibility. We are seeing the results of this shift in their grades, their peer interactions, and their growing confidence in what their futures can hold.

On Friday, November 14, 2025, our Brothers joined peers from other Modesto sites to explore the Sonoma State campus. This wasn't just a field trip; it was an opportunity for them to visualize themselves in a collegiate environment and begin mapping out their own paths to higher education.

To celebrate consistent engagement, selected brothers also enjoyed a fun arcade trip—a well-deserved reward recognizing the dedication and growth they have shown throughout the fall semester.

Workshop Spotlight: From Brotherhood to Leadership

Theme: Agency, Influence, and Accountability

Throughout November, our curriculum focused on "From Brotherhood to Leadership," guiding students through the core concepts of agency and influence. Through interactive workshops like the Trust & Team Relay and reflection circles, participants explored what it means to lead—communicating clearly, following through on commitments, and showing up for their community.

Impact in Study Hall: These themes translated powerfully into our study halls. Brothers were fully locked in, collaborating to organize materials, identifying missing assignments, and setting specific goals. Study hall became a structured space where students practiced accountability and took ownership of their progress.
