IYT Weaver Middle School Impact Update: November 2025

November in Review: Building Bridges

This month at Weaver Middle School was about bridging the gap between where our students are now and where they are going. From physically standing on a university campus to preparing for mentorship connections with local high schoolers, we are ensuring our Brothers have a clear line of sight to their future.

College Access: Sonoma State Tour

Campus Vibes & Bowling Strikes

On November 14th, Weaver Brothers had an amazing opportunity to attend a college tour at Sonoma State University.

Students explored the beautiful campus and attended an informative admissions presentation, learning exactly what it takes to get accepted. The day was capped off with a fun bowling activity, allowing students to bond outside the classroom. Experiences like these are vital; they help our Brothers envision themselves in a college environment and inspire them to dream big about their futures.

Look Ahead: Spring 2026

We are already planning exciting opportunities for the new year!

  • VHS x WMS Meet & Greet (Jan/Feb 2026): 15 Weaver students will be paired with 15 GVHS students serving as mentors. They will enjoy a campus tour, learn about high school clubs and sports, and share lunch together.

  • Spring College Tour (Feb/March 2026): Students will head out on another trip to get a feel for a new campus environment!
