Bro, Joel
10th Grade
This month, we are highlighting Joel Mora Aguilar. Joel was one of the first brothers who signed up for IYT during the recruitment phase. Joel is a Johansen Athlete and joined IYT because he wants to get a scholarship for college to play sports and wants to get into a UC or CSU straight out of high school. Joel struggled a little with academics during his freshman year, so joining IYT was another good reason to stay on top of his grades to fulfill his goal. Joel started with a 1.6 GPA, and with the support and encouragement he got from IYT, he ended this school year with a 3.4 GPA. Joel credits his mentor, Vanassa Soto, for believing in him and supporting him throughout the school year.
