December in Review: Sweat Equity
January at Franklin High School was defined by physical effort and tangible results. From the wrestling mat to the community garden, our Brothers demonstrated that leadership requires sweat equity. We believe that if you want to see a change in your community (or your scoreboard), you have to put in the work.
MLK Day of Service: Revitalizing the Community

Honoring the legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. requires more than just remembrance—it requires movement. That’s why IYT joined forces with the Stockton Service Corps for a hands-on Day of Service. Over 40 IYT members, including staff and students, mobilized to breathe new life into local spaces. The team split up to tackle critical needs, including:
Revitalizing community gardens (building and planting).
organizing neighborhood clean-ups.
Assembling food boxes for families facing food insecurity.
By working side-by-side, the Brothers didn't just talk about community support; they physically strengthened the spaces that support our neighbors every day.
Brother of the Month

Brother Eligh
12th Grade
Eligh Garcia has been a standout member of IYT since his Junior year, but this month he took things to a new level. Eligh consistently creates a welcoming space for Brothers during after-school programming, but his leadership extends well beyond the classroom walls. We recently had the privilege of watching Eligh in action on his Senior Night for wrestling, where he won his first-round match in just five seconds! As team captain, his teammates look to him for guidance and inspiration. Eligh continues to demonstrate that true leaders set the pace for everyone else to follow. Congratulations, Eligh!
