Month in Review: Ivy League Amitions & Stanford Explorations

March at Aptos Middle School was all about looking beyond the horizon and setting high standards. By stepping foot onto one of the nation's most prestigious college campuses, our young men are visualizing what it takes to succeed at the highest levels of academia.

Envisioning Excellence: Stanford University Campus Tour

On March 6th, IYT students had the exciting opportunity to explore the campus of Stanford University!

Students were warmly welcomed by members of the Stanford Black Student Union, who led a comprehensive campus tour and shared their authentic experiences as students of color at Stanford during an engaging panel discussion.

Students also had the chance to visit Casa Zapata, Stanford’s Latinidad-themed residential community. There, they toured the dorms and dining hall while learning about the supportive cultural spaces available on campus. One of the major highlights for many students was visiting the Cantor Arts Center, where they explored a wide range of artwork and historical exhibits.

Reminder: Our next college tour will be to Saint Mary's College of California on May 15th! If you would like your child to attend, please reach out to Ms. Kayla for more information.

Brother of the Month

Brother Ethan, 7th Grader from Aptos Middle School.

Brother Ethan

7th Grade

We are incredibly proud to name Brother Ethan as our Brother of the Month!

Brother Ethan is one of the most forward-thinking and college-oriented young men we have in the program. Every single time he checks in with a mentor, he takes advantage of the opportunity to ask thoughtful, detailed questions about different universities. Right now, he has his eyes set on the University of Pennsylvania (UPenn), but he remains open to learning about many more options.

Not to mention, he absolutely has the grades for it! Currently boasting straight A's, Brother Ethan is a shining example of what it means to be a young, dedicated scholar.
