Month in Review: Growing the Brotherhood and Locking In
The start of the semester at Del Campo High School brought incredible changes, massive growth, and a whole lot of fun! With a packed house, new mentors, and a laser focus on our academic goals, our young men are demonstrating what it truly means to level up.
A Packed House: Welcome Mentor Isiajah, Jr. Mentors, and The Brotherhood!

January and February brought amazing momentum to Del Campo! We were thrilled to officially welcome Mentor Isiajah to the campus, successfully choose our new Jr. Mentors, and consistently have a full house during our programming.
The Brotherhood is stronger than ever. We love seeing the room packed every Tuesday and Thursday right after school until 5:00 PM, and we are open every day to help students work on homework!
Leveling Up: Progress Reports, Good Grades, Study Hall… Oh My!
Not so happy with your recent progress report grades? Don't worry—we have you covered!
Did you know that IYT has dedicated mentors ready to help you get those grades up? Mentors like Mario are waiting for you in Room 3 to help with your homework. Whether you need to drop in during lunch or stay after school, the support is here. It's time to take accountability and finish the semester strong!
Thinking Ahead: Grind & Discipline

The energy in Room 3 continues to grow as more and more Brothers show up and show out during programming. Throughout our recent workshops, we focused heavily on the grind, discipline, and the absolute importance of thinking ahead.
With over 20 Brothers in the room, we had meaningful conversations about holding one another accountable and pushing each other to improve every day. These discussions helped strengthen our commitment to personal growth, academic focus, and Brotherhood. The dedication and positive energy in that space have truly been unmatched.
We’ll see you in Room 3—and remember to LOCK IN, TWIN!
Brother of the Month

Brother Abdul Mateen
11th Grade
Brother Abdul Mateen has truly demonstrated what it means to be a Brother in both word and action!
Time and time again, he is the first to step up—whether it’s helping fellow Brothers improve their grades or holding everyone accountable during programming. He leads with integrity, consistency, and a genuine desire to see those around him succeed. His commitment to supporting the Brotherhood and uplifting others does not go unnoticed, and the impact he makes is incredibly real. We are so proud of the example he sets and are honored to recognize him as our Brother of the Month!

"My why is simple. I want to live in a world where education is truly accessible to all students.
I am a first generation college graduate from Reedley, California. My journey has been full circle. I remember working in the fields at a young age, not fully understanding what my future could look like. College was not something that felt guaranteed. It felt distant. Yet somehow, through hope, resilience, and the support I did have, I made it. I earned my degree. And now I am pursuing my Master’s.
There were moments along the way when I questioned myself. Moments when I wondered if I belonged in certain rooms. And I often think about how different things might have been if I had someone believe in me the way I believe in our brothers. If I had someone constantly reminding me that I was capable, worthy, and meant for more.
That is why I do this work.
I do it for the young man who does not yet see his own potential. I do it for the student who thinks his dreams are too big for where he comes from. I do it to nurture, uplift, and push our brothers one dream, one goal, one achievement at a time.
Because sometimes all it takes is one person who believes in you. And I choose to be that person."

Mentor Isiajah
My Why:
I didn’t have anyone to guide me on the steps it took to get to college in high school, so to be able to give others the guidance I wish I had at the time feels rewarding.
I’m currently a student at Sacramento State majoring in Health Science and am in my 4th year. I went to community college before transferring to Sac. State and earned an Associates Degree there, so I’ve been around both the Cal State and CC systems before, and again to be able to help the brothers prepare or take the steps needed to get to the next level of education feels rewarding knowing they don’t have to figure it out on their own.
