Month in Review: Brotherhood & Leadership

February at Mitchell Middle School was defined by powerful student voices and unwavering peer support. From sharing their experiences on a student panel to lifting each other up on tough days, our young men are proving that true leadership is about community.

Lifting Every Voice: IYT Student Panel & Brotherly Love

Brothers Bradley, Christian, Louis, and Jahari participated in a student panel to share their experiences in IYT.

Student voices took center stage as Bradley, Christian, Louis, and Jahari participated in a student panel to share their experiences in IYT, highlighting memorable moments and offering ideas on how the program can continue to grow. After the panel, students enjoyed lunch together as the room filled with excitement, laughter, and celebration.

In a particularly meaningful moment, when Jahari was having a difficult day, the other Brothers showed true brotherly love by cheering him up and surrounding him with encouragement. This beautiful display of empathy reminded us that the true strength of IYT lies in the support our Brothers show one another.

Kam (8th grade), Max (6th grade), Bradley (7th grade), and Alex (6th grade) were officially nominated as our Brothers of the Semester for their outstanding contributions to the program!

Throughout the year, these four Brothers have been a strong foundation within IYT, consistently demonstrating leadership, dedication, and positivity. Their academic performance has been exceptional, and they bring energy, kindness, and encouragement to the space every day. Each of them sets a powerful example for their peers, and it has been incredible to watch them grow and develop as leaders. We are so proud to celebrate their achievements and grateful to have them as part of our Brotherhood!
