Month in Review: Leading with Empathy and Excellence

February at Pittsburg High School was all about inner growth and outward leadership. From diving deep into emotional wellness to organizing campus-wide community service, our young men are demonstrating what it means to build a strong foundation for themselves while uplifting those around them.

Building Trust and Resilience: Emotional Wellness Series

This February, IYT brought energy, reflection, and growth to our Brothers through a powerful workshop series focused on identity, emotional wellness, trust, and support.

Students engaged in movement-based exercises, dialogue, and reflection activities that encouraged them to trust one another, explore the emotions they sometimes hide, and see how challenges can shape purpose and resilience. The workshops also challenged Brothers to think critically about media portrayals of masculinity, recognize their personal support systems, and view asking for help as a profound strength. The month wrapped up with a collective reflection on wellness and the vital role each Brother plays in fostering a supportive and uplifting community.

Our Jr. Mentors, Brother Jacob and Brother Jabari, have been working diligently behind the scenes to coordinate an upcoming community service project right here on campus!

They have taken the lead in organizing the event and motivating the Brothers to get involved and give back to the school community. Their leadership, initiative, and dedication are setting a strong example for their peers, and we are incredibly excited to see the positive impact their hard work will create.

Academic Achievement: Brother Jacob

We are thrilled to celebrate Brother Jacob, who is currently maintaining an impressive 4.04 GPA!

This incredible milestone is a direct reflection of his strong dedication, discipline, and commitment to his education. His achievements highlight not only his academic ability but also his sheer determination to stay on track toward his future goals. We are incredibly proud of Brother Jacob and look forward to seeing all that he will accomplish both in and beyond the classroom. Keep up the great work!
