Month in Review: Identity & Future Readiness

February at Rio Calaveras Elementary School was all about honoring where we come from and preparing for where we are going. From celebrating the diverse languages of our Brotherhood to intentionally planning out high school and career pathways, our young men are stepping into their futures with confidence and pride.

The Power of Culture and Unity: The IYT Creed in Four Languages

IYT brothers shared the IYT Creed in their native languages—Urdu, Spanish, Tagalog, and Hindi—celebrating the diversity and unity within our program.

The power of culture and unity was on full display as IYT Brothers proudly shared the IYT Creed in the languages that reflect their diverse backgrounds!

To celebrate diversity and promote inclusion within our program, Brothers were invited to recite the Creed in their native languages. During the event, students confidently shared the Creed in Urdu, Spanish, Tagalog, and Hindi, allowing everyone to hear the same powerful message expressed through different cultures and voices. Moments like this highlight the strength and richness of our Brotherhood. It was inspiring to see students embrace their identities while staying connected to the shared mission and values of IYT.

Mapping the Journey: Exploring High School Pathways

IYT brothers researched high school pathways, exploring programs, GPA requirements, and opportunities at schools like SECA and HCA to align their plans with long-term goals.

During this month's workshop, IYT Brothers spent time researching different high school pathways and exploring schools that align with their future goals.

Using their computers, students looked into specialized programs at schools such as Stockton Early College Academy (SECA) and Health Careers Academy (HCA), learning about the classes offered, GPA expectations, and admission requirements. SECA is known for its rigorous college-prep environment and the opportunity to earn transferable college credits, while HCA offers courses that prepare students for medical-related careers. Through this activity, our Brothers began thinking more intentionally about their long-term goals and the steps they can take now to move closer to achieving them.

Academic Achievement: Brother Kenneth

Brother Kenneth
Brother Kenneth

Brother Kenneth has shown incredible growth and resilience this year, turning challenges into achievements! Earlier in the year, he struggled with both his grades and classroom behavior. However, with positive support and a renewed focus on his education, Brother Kenneth has made a massive shift.

His teacher shared, “Kenneth has taken so much more responsibility and accountability for himself, and it shows in his work and determination.” We are incredibly proud of the growth he has made and are excited to see him continue building on this momentum toward academic success.

Day in and day out, he consistently chooses to do the right thing, even when no one is watching. His positive attitude uplifts those around him, and he treats everyone with respect and kindness. This strong character is reflected in his academics as well, with grades that showcase the effort, focus, and responsibility he brings to his work. Brother Vicente’s dedication, consistency, and unwavering integrity make him a role model for the Brotherhood, and we are so proud to celebrate his achievements.
