Month in Review: Bridging the Gap & Building Dedication
February at Rudolph Rivera Middle School was all about showing up and looking ahead. From packing our lunchtime meetups to exploring high school campuses, our young men are proving that true Brotherhood is built on adaptability and a dedication to the future.
Dedication Anywhere: No Classroom, No Problem

Here at Rivera Middle School, we don’t have a dedicated classroom space, but that absolutely doesn’t stop our Brothers from staying engaged!
Each lunch session, we have around 10 Brothers stop by to get help with their homework, check in with their mentors, or just hang out and build community. It is a powerful reminder that the Brotherhood isn't a room—it's the people!
High School Readiness: Bridging the Gap

Our Brothers at Rivera and Hoover Middle Schools took a fantastic trip to Merced High School for our highly anticipated "Bridge the Gap" event!
Each of our middle school Brothers was paired with an IYT high school Brother for the day. They took time to tour the campus, have honest conversations about what to expect when they enter 9th grade, and engage in a 1:1 mentor session. Many of our Brothers absolutely loved this event and now have familiar faces to look for once they begin high school and stay a part of the IYT family!
Brother of the Month

Brother Mauricio
8th Grade
Brother Mauricio has earned Brother of the Month for his strong dedication, positive attitude, and outstanding character!
As an 8th-grade student, he demonstrates consistent attendance and makes the extra effort to stay after school, as well as coming in during lunch to get support with his homework. He holds himself accountable for his grades and takes total responsibility for any missing assignments, showing incredible maturity and a strong commitment to his success.
Beyond academics, Brother Mauricio shows great character through his respectful behavior, willingness to learn, and positive interactions. He brings great energy to the program and consistently sets a great example for his peers!
